Adobe software applications, like Photoshop, are some of the most widely used multimedia applications in the world. Certification can be a step toward a raise or promotion for many multimedia professionals.

 

Learn about basic colour theory as well as colour management and monitor calibration. Explore the different Photoshop tools and controls, and develop the skills necessary to resample images and prepare them for printing and the Internet. Consider layers and creating composite images from multiple sources.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the number of job opportunities for graphic designers is expected to increase 7% between the years 2012 and 2022. Opportunities will be greatest for candidates who can work in both digital and print media. The BLS also reported that the mean yearly salary for a graphic designer was $50,670 in May 2014. The BLS estimated that photography jobs will grow 4% for the years 2012 through 2022. Mean annual earnings of photographers were $38,350 in 2014, according to the BLS.
